Biomass Boiler Success
James Bailey • November 24, 2020

After several months of negotiations, JBPL has helped Vital Energi gain planning permission for a new biomass boiler that was seeking to use new technologies that would reduce the carbon footprint of the Muntons site at Stowmarket.
The approved scheme will now result in a zero carbon biomass boiler, that will generate 73.3% of the Muntons site heat demand. Not only will the boiler generate heat and power, but the scheme will also allow for the new equipment to be sited within a combined technology Energy Centre.
The application involved detailed discussions with BMSDC and SCC Officers, but successfully achieved a delegated approval.
