Brownfield Success in Stowmarket

JBPL attended the Mid Suffolk Planning Committee on 19^th July 2023, successfully gaining Outline planning approval for up to 65 dwellings in Stowmarket with an anonymous decision from all Members in favour of the Officer’s recommendation.

The land has been occupied by TruckEast, a well-established HGV vehicle workshop repair operator, since the early 1970’s very close to the town centre of Stowmarket. In planning terms it is therefore considered a ‘brownfield site’ in very sustainable location. The HGV business has expanded and as a result, TruckEast have relocated to a larger premises that can accommodate the daily HGV movements at Lawn Park Business Centre, leaving their Violet Hill site prime for residential development.
